London.- Adele is preparing to leave London so she can protect her voice, according to reports.

The ’21’ songstress went under the knife to have vocal chord microsurgery in America last month, in order to stop recurrent bleeding from a benign polyp.

Her condition forced to cancel all of her remaining live dates of 2011 and, although she revealed in November that she was on the road to recovery, the Daily Mirror claims she wants to leave the capital city so she can save her throat from pollution.

A source close to the singer said: "The operation went well but she still needs to take good care of herself. Adele is a London girl through and through, but she’s never been particularly into the showbiz circuit so when it was suggested she move out of the city, she agreed immediately."

They went on to add: "The idea is for her to live in the countryside, away from the capital’s smog and pollution".

In October, Adele’s representatives were forced to deny rumours that the singer was suffering from throat cancer.

Earlier this month, meanwhile, Adele warned her fans not to expect a follow-up to her chart-topping album ’21’ in the near future. The singer said she is definitely taking a break before she pens songs for her next record and it is unlikely to see the light for at least two or three years.
